Men over40, never married, no kids

So, I am 42 and have friends and family (mind you, I am a divorce attorney) continually question me as to why I have never been married or had kids…
I have also read countless articles about women stating that a man over 40, who has never been married or had kids, raises a red flag

Full disclosure, I have not even gone on a date in about a year…additionally, it seems when I do flirt with a woman the end result is her (a) thinking I am joking with her or (b) her eventually telling me she has a boyfriend

Either I am hideously ugly or have the personality of wet paint (without the buzz from breathing it in LOL)

Ace, I always found being in a location where both I and the majority of the woman are well lubricated (with alcohol) seems to ease the flirting/dating/courting ritual.

Divorce attorney... Never married. Makes perfect sense to me.

When I was about 35 and said I had never been in much of a real relationship I was told I was "damaged goods" by a member of my work team. At 44 I am still not hitched and in fact have just given up finding the right woman.

Why are we a red flag to them? Probably because they realize if we made it this long without them we can get by without them. Women like to feel needed. But if you make it to over 40 and never married you know how to cook, clean, do laundry, and are not afraid of being alone. Their leverage is gone.

Of course my cynical attitude could be why I will never meet the right woman.

But the thing is, I do not even date anymore - I basically (unless at a casino) am home 99% of the evenings and weekends watching tv, reading or hanging out with my dog…I basically have given up any form of a social life

I guess I don't expect it — I suppose the cons of dating outweigh the pros
