Voters legalized Pot, period, no Doc's prescription needed, in Washington and Colorado.

So, are we going to see some new State's Rights advocates? This is totally contrary to Federal law.

What will we see? I am guessing the voters generally wanted the state to quit prosecuting users [and sellers] but don't expect to see shops popping up in defiance of the Feds.

What an interesting turn of events. I can't wait to watch this unfold. This should challenge some belief systems on both sides of the aisle.

As others have said, it changes little but where you will face charges. Though it does mean the feds have to enforce it. A smart guess says the feds will bust growers and sellers but not users. Smaller-scale growers may even be left alone. If i lived there I would consider planting some for sale, though I am such a square I would not know how to go about selling it.

Personally, I applaud Washington and Colorado.

One small step for liberty, and for ending the insane and destructive "war" on "drugs."

I am a non-smoker, and that means everything. But I seriously don't get criminalizing personal use of weed.

I am mixed. I've seen it do bad things to people but not all users.

Indeed, but like hamburgers, surely it's not the government's job to regulate what people consume?

Absolutely not.

But the liberals should also take note of this. Or next we'll see a lot of the same "war on drugs" idiocy for things like tobacco, beef, sugar, and foie gras among other things.

Why I said I am mixed. I want as little regulation as possible. Just that weed slows you down when you are high or not, for what I have seen anyways. I would be more from dropping it from a misdemeanor to summary offense. Like a traffic ticket. I don't want it in schools and don't want it sold to kids. I find if a gateway drug not by effect but by who you socialize with.

Again I am not into it so minimal effect on me. Should help the economies of some of the areas that decriminalized.
