No two of them are the same and people scream their heads off when they have to pay $28 for the part and $450 for labor to put it in. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

So do I, I'm used to it. Luckily I also have gauges for everything. Yet the 'Check Gauges' light is on all time now, ironically. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

| Face Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 61 Posts: 3941 | Mine is quite colorful as well. Airbag crash sensor, CEL, ABS, Brake, plus the damn thing dings 33 times every time I turn the key because of the ABS. Don't care, it runs. In other news, as my life continues it's death spiral, I decided to make things all that much more difficult. Bought the wood, it's aquarium time =D Wasn't until I got to cutting when I remember someone commenting how hard it is to make a simple box. Yup, it's a right pain in the ass, alright. And of course, the very first cut sent a splinter into my eye because why not. Got it out and carried on; two hours later I had but the footprint. ![]() Surprisingly, the width is dead balls on, maybe off by <1/16". The length I boobied up a bit by getting a little too hasty with the pilot holes for the lags. Even so, that's only off a quarter, and this is just the stand. So it's a bit of a rhombus, it doesn't matter. It's Good Enough. Not bad for hunchin' and figgerin' without a tape measure. I thought it lacked the impressiveness I expected, just seeing a square on the floor. Then I looked at pics of my formerly huge tank and saw it's not even half the size of the footprint. This... this is a project. ![]() I haven't gotten that far yet, but I would not be surprised if things surpasses 7,000lbs. My rough estimate puts it at about $1,000 completed, and I bet I can shave quite a bit off that. Of course, once I get some bass and walleye in there, fatten them up, and start cleaning up in the local tournaments, it's gonna be one hell of a money maker ;) Be bold and risk defeat, or be cautious and encourage it. |

I am going to stock up on Blue Diamond Hickory Smoked Almonds and get comfortable for this ride. It is going to be fun and exciting. It's already almost turned you into an eye patch wearing pirate, and that's just the first four pieces.....hehe |

Is that actual pine panels on the walls or is it panelling. It's hard to tell in the pic. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

How so? My other aquarium was there and I had no problems. I did worry about temp and temp related issues like algae, but it only ever grew in one little corner that got the sunlight. It was a bit warm, but not to the point it damaged the fish. If you meant problems of a different kind, please advise.
Better bring a pillow, I suspect this ride will be long =/ As I was cutting the second piece, I got a call from my motor guy to come pick up my mess, and I'm already a few weeks behind on getting the race car built. That'll of course be taking priority, assuming the numbers work out for money and whatnot. I suppose either way I'll have something for you to read, replete with all the schadenfreude you can handle =p Be bold and risk defeat, or be cautious and encourage it. |

Lol, no. I was thinking of hyper feeding sport fish to ridiculous size and toting them to the lake in my livewell, then pretending I caught them to take the tournament prize money XD I've not the time nor the size to get into fish and plant farming, though it is sort of a dream (in the far off future). I would like to get real plants someday. I suppose my small time goal is to have an actual ecosystem that's as hands off as can be. Certainly I'd have to interfere when it comes to feeding, but the stuff with the water I'd like to be self sustaining. Some sort of harmony between fish waste and plant growth would be very cool indeed. I'm a ways away from that, yet.
Just low quality paneling from the late 80's, but I like it. It's still got a sheen and hasn't warped or cracked, and the color is just about exactly what I look for. It sets a good tone in that room. I'd like to do it up in real wood, but as far as my house goes, that room is the best. I've got a long, looong list of stuff that takes precedence, unfortunately.
