Lots has been written about all the CGI de-aging this movie will use. “A straight man will not go for kids.” - AZDuffman |

They kill a pedo priest in the first 20 min. The similarities to Soprano's is amazing. Terribly dysfunctional family, shrill bitchy wife, Ray cheats on her in the first ep, kids are clones of the Soprano kids, Ray is super violent just like Tony Soprano. Breaks a clients hand and beats a guy half to death with a bat, Tony in the first ep see's a guy who owes him money, chases him, and kicks him into unconsciousness. Tony is more likable than Ray, though. Ray is solemn all the time and has zero sense of humor. I don't like Paula MalComson anyway, not even in Deadwood. She a whiner and a moaner groaner and not in the least bit attractive. I was shocked at how fit Jon Voight was at 74. Shirt off, no gut, he almost had ab's. He carries the show so far. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

The pedo priest story is a long running one. Voight is the stand out in the show Liev Schreiber is Ray Donovan (2013–present); the role has earned him five Golden Globe Award nominations and three Primetime Emmy Award nominations. But his biggest role is "watch salesman". The product placement money probably paid for the production of the series. |

I have to get over Paula MalComson being in the show, like I got over Skyler in BB. Just FF thru her parts, I guess. She's fingernails on a blackboard to me. And the daughter, what a peach she is. At least the Soprano daughter was attractive. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Everyone in the show is a battered by life. They all have abrasive angles. They are seduced by money and power, and all of them give into greed. Nobody remains pure. Paula MacComson plays a very flawed woman. But by the end of the show I really respected her acting. |

The scene where they kill the pedo priest was very satisfying. I bet a lot of people cheered seeing it when the show aired. They wrote him perfectly, in his mind he did nothing wrong. It was the kids that seduced him, he has nothing to apologize for. I don't see how they can top season 1. I mean, Rosanna Arquette and James Woods and they both get killed? Woods always plays a believable jerk bad guy. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

I have to admit season #1 was pretty terrific. |
