I wonder how many embark in a rickety old boat with a video camera, a dog and a broad but soon sink? After all that Australian guy who recently got a million dollar yacht and a great contract from the builder did run his boat across well-marked rocks on his very first voyage, never having even considered water depth or looking at a chart.

The three young adventurers who years ago bought a rickety old sailboat and went wandering arond the Caribbean did sail into a state of 'no food, no water, no money' but now they are: a world famous cryptographer, a wealthy and talented wedding photographer and a very happy botanist. Boldness helps but I guess luck plays a role.

I file it under, "If I knew then what I know now." I keep looking for a WordPress class to take. I need to go to the class and interact, not just do online. I will never have the graphic art capability but would purchase that.

Conversely, I keep thinking how nice it would be to do a few tours a year. Say Belize. Get 20 people to go, structure making $300 a head. $6,000. Say you have to drop $2,000 on your own costs. Still $4,000 profit. Do that 5 times a year and you have a little chunk to live on. If I added my current side hustles and rent, then find a few more like delivering Amazon.

I could live nicely as a minimalist bum for the rest of my life! Which is becoming more and more of my goal in life.

I'd need a woman with lots of personality as a partner to do it. I can organize but hate to host. Bubbly women who are good hosts usually hate to organize.

Maybe I should try?

It is still a dreary life most of the time. I am lucky in that I get to use my mind, the scenery changes, and I have had good freedom mostly. So many are stuck in some kind of call center, the modern assembly line. Inbound or outbound, have to keep up with the line. Two left from my hiring class about 10 years ago. The one I keep in touch with says you just have to check your mind at the front door.

Many think they will move up in the world. Those are the saddest. Go from taking the calls to listening to them, generating paper for some other drones. Thinking you make a difference when you are just some cog.

It seems Just For Fun Mobile Gaming Dot Com in Cape Coral, Florida is doing it right. Great big trailer, must be their equipment hauler rather than their 'casino' but its said to have 24 customers.

FYI, I believe they are from Coral Spings FL, not Cape Coral FL. I looked it up because I spend a lot of time in Cape Coral and I had never heard of it,

As usual, I am wrong and you are right.

Anyway, it shows what is possible to avoid a protracted set up and lugging of equipment.

I was staggered at the boredom watching a guy do some maintenance and I asked him how he was able to cope with it. He said, "head down, hand out".

Thinking down the road, what happens if you get disabled, suffer from dementia, or... just get too old to get around? There should be some long term planning in the mix, as you may not want to outlive your money.

I have some retirement savings. Also it is likely I die younger than older, given family history and my current conditions. Meanwhile I keep trying to learn new skills and live small.

You could always Buy and Lease-Back a catamaran at some Florida or Tropical Yacht Broker. The broker does his best to keep your yacht being rented out by people such as Face and the Fed. Then a few times a year you put together a tour to Belize and rent your own yacht to do it in.

One man and woman each started a language school but on different coasts. They also each bought a boat and started a sailing school, often featuring their friends as students. Eventually the two met and married then merged their businesses, sold it all and retired.
