If you don't think atheism has been the greatest problem of the 20th century then most certainly relativism has been. “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

Women were not held as equals in society until recently - up until about 75 years ago the church was against women's suffrage, and it looks like in part they changed their minds on that so they could get the women to vote in support of an issue important to the church. Even now they make less money than men for similar efforts in similar jobs. After all that, you say contraception is responsible for the negative attitudes towards women and the spread of pornography? Do you see how crazy that sounds? Here's one from the 13th century: 'A priest who had been experiencing doubts about transubstantiation was celebrating mass in Orvieto, Italy. Soon after he had consecrated the Eucharist, the host started bleeding onto the corporal (a liturgical cloth) on the altar. The priest, the story goes, ran to the pope who was visiting the town and confessed his sin of doubt. The corporal remains on display in the Cathedral of Orvieto.' To make it even harder to believe, accounts of it don’t appear until about a hundred years later. This is absolute proof that gullible people will accept anything as truth if Jesus is connected to it. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

This again? And this is a talking point of the Vatican, they even have a name for it, I looked it up. You're supposed to throw in an atheists face whenever possible. Clue number one: It doesn't work because it's not true. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

What seems kind of crazy to me is saying that there was contraception back in ancient Biblical times. How effective and widespread were these contraceptives? Another thing that is a little off is making it seem like the Church was against women's suffrage or alone in that discrimination against women. The Church was fighting for equal rights and the education of women long before there was a suffrage movement. The Church started educating women and encouraging them to run convents and take leadership roles in society and teach long before the world woke up to the equality of women rights. Show me another institution that has done more for women. Are you denying that contraception has a major factor in the epidemic of pornography and infidelity throughout the world? Come on man. “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

I really don't know if you are lying or just misinformed. However the miracle of Orvieto was immediately reported to the Archbishop and examined for its authenticity. St. Thomas Aquinas wrote the beautiful prayers we use for the Feast of Corpus Christi based on this miracle. You can still see the blood stained corporal (cloth used at Mass) today. “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

This again? Where are you getting these Vatican talking points, I would love to see them. What name has it been given besides history. “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

It's called the Atheist Atrocities Fallacy and is pure bunk started by the Church. Google it and you'll see more articles that you'll never read about it being total fantasy. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |
