Simple question?

It would be disgusting and idiocy to tell a young child that same-sex parents aren't or cannot be excellent parents. That child would hopefully know the truth and ignore such stupidity. However, all things being equal placing him with a mom and a dad would be different and better for him going forward. “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

Then why close down a charity, and help place no children at all into any kind of home, rather than help same sex couples? That kind of bigotry and arrogance should be cause for concern. But then, the Gostak distims the Doshes, doesn't it? Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

I think a far bigger concern is why the government is forcing a religious charity to reject truth and do something that it sees against truth itself and the teachings of the Church. Do they not have the right to place children in the best homes they can? That they are not allowed to do this seems much more like bigotry, arrogance, and tyranny. This is a huge concern. “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

Why do you want to reduce everything to Christian theology? The government cannot, and must not ever, discriminate between different people for reasons like sexual orientation, gender identity, race, class or even religion. Private agencies receiving government funds, likewise, cannot discriminate on such basis either. It's simple justice in government policy, nothing more.
Package-dealing again? Do you not see the government isn't keeping them from doing anything, so long as they don't take taxpayer funds? As for arrogance, the notion that the choice is between your own perceived notion of what constitutes superior parents or nothing at all, you go for the latter rather than admit same sex couples are a better alternative to nothing. So it would be idiocy to tell this to a child, but you should go ahead and tell that to a child anyway. Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

| petroglyph Member since: Aug 3, 2014 Threads: 25 Posts: 6227 | We have been here before. Rather than "risk" putting orphans in same sex partner homes, your church chooses to leave tens of thousands of kids parentless, to fend for themselves in often times predatory orphanages, without loving parents. edit; from where I sit, that is blasphemy. The last official act of any government is to loot the treasury. GW |

This doesn't have much to do with Christian theology. It has everything to do with what is best for the child and about what is true.
Why is it discrimination to put children in homes with a mom and a dad over homes where there are two men or two women? If the government decides that they want children only placed in apartments and condos and the adoption agency preferred to place children in single family homes with backyards is that discrimination?
Yes, we aren't saying you can't do what ever you want we will just take away your funding on which you depend. Remember these agencies are doing a service for the government and society that the government chooses not to do. It is irresponsible of the government to force agencies to do what they are against and what is not best for the child and then not take up the slack. If the government wants to get into the role of adoption then why don't they instead of making it impossible for private agencies to do their job and then do nothing for the kids. That is ludicrous and unfair. It is a shame! “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

Not at all it is the government taking funding away from private agencies who do a great job because of ideology and politics. There was no problem at all, in fact often Catholic agencies were by far the best agencies in placing and finding homes for children. “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

Because what's judged in potential adoptive parents is a couple's fitness to be parents, not what they do in bed or how the go about it, nor what color skin they have, nor whether they choose to waste time on religious services or not, etc. If a law were passed merely favoring any kind of parents over Catholic ones, you'd be screaming bloody murder. Your position is that same sex couples can be good parents, but that even the best qualified same sex couple is not as good for a child as the worst straight couple, based entirely on the sexual activities of the couples involved. If you cannot see this as discrimination, not to mention overweening false pride, then I suggest you look for a lumberjack to help you get the effing log out of your eye.
