The family planning method is at the very bottom of effective birth control methods. I see articles where people claim it ruined their marriages, was so hard to do it drove them into celibacy and eventual divorce. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

It helps couples respect each other, talk more, and honors the health of the woman. You should follow the advice given and argue with facts. If we are using the CDC as the guide it lists on their website that NFP when done correctly can be 98% effective which would put it on the top of the list. “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

Not from what I'm reading. There is a ton of people who despise NFP. I feel like I was duped. It was made out to be a little honeymoon each month. A time of wooing and prayer. The reality is much more terrible. It is one of frustration and rejection for me and her turning into a purity gatekeeper. I wish it wasn't sold as being so rosy, I feel like I was deceived. I HAVE tried to like it, to work it, and I feel like it is hurting our marriage, not being a pillar to make it stronger like they said it would be. I almost don't want to try with her because i'm tried of hearing 'no' and about cervical mucus and phases and chart work. Or this: NFP has killed my marriage. That about sums it up. Trying to live church teachings, basically just results in celibacy or risk of medical emergency. Our marriage is basically non existent. People talk about "other forms of intimacy" and that's b.s. NFP isn't beautiful, it is a wrecking ball aimed at happiness. Then there's this: Artificial contraception, such as condoms and birth control pills, is morally acceptable to 87% of Catholics in a recent Pew poll. This included Catholics who attend mass on a regular basis. NFP is so wonderful that 87% have gone running to condoms and the pill as fast as they could. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

We have discussed it is not easy and it is also interesting that both seem to come from a male perspective, very curious. You have to have the right mindframe and willingness to sacrifice for your wife. These claims that abstaining for 8 days makes you a monk smacks of a man desiring sex on demand from his wife whenever he wants regardless of her concerns or desires. This culture of sex on demand with anyone without consequences is what leads to the use of artificial contraception and the parishioners are not immune. However, I will agree that painting NFP too rosy or as an automatic fix to your marriage might not be the best idea. “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

87% of Catholics think it's OK. Just give it up, the other way isn't working. Of course it's men who complain, it;'s hard enough to get a wife to have sex without the built in excuse of NFP. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Good question. What could possibly be immoral about a sex robot. Nobody is hurt, nobody is objectified like in porn. But watch, the Church will condemn it because it views sex as wicked and evil. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |
