the dogs probably are just used to sniff the snakes out, then men kill the snakes somehow

We need bigger pythons.

Brittany Clark died on June 28 after being attacked by the massive reptile in the Little Big Econ State Forest, located just northeast of Orlando.

Authorities captured and killed two alligators, one measuring 12.5ft and another that was 13ft, that were found near the site of the attack.

DNA testing has now confirmed that she was killed by the larger gator, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) officials have now revealed.

The local coroner also determined that the bite marks on Clark's arm were consistent with the front row of the 13ft alligator's teeth, the FWC told WOFL.

Officials say they are not speculating as to what prompted the attack, but note that alligators are often territorial during mating season, which runs from April to June.

Clark was attacked while on a hike with her boyfriend, Chance Allison, their friends and her dogs. The group had stopped for a quick swim in the Econlockhatchee River.

She was standing in just three feet of water when the gator lunged and grabbed Clark's arm, then took her into a death roll.

the only python death recorded so far in Florida was from a "pet" python.

If I lived in FLA, I wouldn't go anywhere near a body of freshwater, except on a boat. Swimming or recreating near water where gators are known to live is just colossally stupid.

There is the death of an innocent gator here

I imagine SOOPOO is out once a week looking to see if his golf ball is in a water hazard or stayed on shore.

It’s a multi factorial decision. Playing the same few dozen courses repeatedly you actually know which ponds are gator infested and which are not. The locals have even named some of the gators. My only ‘scare’ was picking up a ball right by the edge of a pond and seeing a baby gator right near by. I never saw its parents but skedaddled right back to my cart ASAP.

Forget gators. Next door neighbor called last week to inform me a 200 or so pound black bear was in my back yard. I do live on a turtle preserve but it doesn’t seem woodsy enough to house a bear. I’ll be a little wary when I return…..
