As many of you know, the Wizard of Vegas has been the victim of a DNS attack on its hosting service. It has been difficult to impossible to get on WoV for about three weeks now. That said, I am going to temporarily lift the rule against discussion of gambling related topics on this forum. I don't want it to seem like I'm poaching traffic from WoV but I do welcome all members to come here temporarily while the WoV is down.

That said, I just wrote a new page on WoO on the game Poker or Bust. It is currently on field trial at the Green Valley Ranch. Briefly, it is a hybrid of blackjack and Three Card Poker. Please click the link and let me know what you think. As always, I welcome all questions, comments, and especially corrections.

The question for the poll is would you play Poker or Bust?

Nope and I love games
Vegas game developers just give us variations of the same old same old
They need somebody with imagination to develop interesting compelling games
Somebody like Ahigh who thinks outside the box
Maybe Ahighs ideas are not the best but at least he tries with ideas outside the box
I appreciate Ahighs efforts. We need more game developers like Ahigh looking at different types of games instead of another variation of poker.

By the way, I have no problem posting on WOV
It was only down that one day for me

It is as slow as mud for me. 95% of the time I get timed out when I try to load the site. That is why I haven't posted in weeks. Is the NFL handicapping contest active?

I would not play it. I tend to avoid carnival games in the first place, but this one looks like too many ways to lose.

I do not see it catching on. Carnival games need women to play to be successful from what I have seen. Only exception I can really think of is Let It Die, which is in any case a has-been game. In my 9 years (good grief!) of dealing games at parties, I can say that if women cannot be up and playing in under 5 minutes, they want to move on. Guys will give it more time as it seems to be a guy-thing to learn the game and be an expert.

However, at a glance this seems to have a crazy variance. Guys are not going to drop $100 to learn a game. Worse when the wife/gf says, "Honey, come on, lets go to Roulette!"

Tell the casino manager to use the space for another TCP table, which seems to keep growing in demand.

Interesting take on the topic. I've said many times to people with a struggling game in field trial to hire a cute girl as a shill and guys will come out of the woodwork to play it. I don't think anybody has ever followed said advice.

What's this Let it Die game you refer to?

Always a good idea. Oldest trick in the book at trade shows. I wonder if the casino management would catch on.

Let It Die = Let It Ride. I have dealt it like 3 times and each time a minute felt like an hour. I can't imagine it under casino conditions.

You're not supposed to manipulate the results of a field trial. That is in part why you can't even play your own game. However, I tend to think the casino wouldn't ask too many questions as long as more people were playing, which equals more profit for them. For all they know, the girl just likes the game enough to play it 40 hours a week. Why ask questions?
