Yes - it appears the firm they claim to be there is actually a different firm

Hey, AoS. This is an interesting new point in your life. I think this thread of a toxic firm as theit employee, should be left completely behind as a story in itself, and a new thread started with whatever you go thru working for yourself and starting fresh.

JMHO. But leaving that nonsense behind was the best thing you've ever done, and I get reminded of how nasty it was every time I see this thread.

When evaluating a job offer, a great many have no idea how important benefits are, and how valuable they can be. Health insurance, 401K match, pension, profit sharing, paid vacation, can easily be worth a third of your salary. If you aren't getting any of those, and a different job offers them, usually the benefit laden job is actually better in the long run. Of course the devil is in the details. I don't think you erred in not going after this Brooklyn job, as it did sound a bit sketchy.

I keep wondering if it would make sense to do a capsule motel in places like Manhattan and SF, but for longer term. People could mull in a common area and sleep in the capsule. $50-70 a night would not be totally cheap but better than this.
