What he said describes every Subway I’ve ever been to, probably around ten, or so, including ones in gas stations.

I consider it a positive, because you can make sure they’re putting everything you want on the sandwich.

For about two years every night I was on call I'd get the spicy Italian SALAD from Subway for dinner. There was one in our hospital. Lettuce, tomato, cucumber, green pepper, hot peppers, jalapenos, onion, bacon (extra charge), pepper jack cheese, pepperoni, capicola. Slathered in some sort of southwest chipotle dressing. It was $4.99, same as the $5 subs...., then an extra $1 for the bacon. Probably 5 times the ingredients of a sub, maybe more. Plus I think I got one free for every 5 I bought, as they were always having some 'point' specials.
One day they changed the point system, and subs went to $6, and my salad became a specialty thing and was around $10! So I started eating in the cafeteria. I was surprised how good the cafeteria had become (new management).

I think I just ordered the salad this way...... Spicy Italian salad, Everything.... except olives,... pepper jack, add bacon, southwest chipotle....

Nice! Great hack, too, until it ended. Basically an antipasto salad!
