Vs your idea of making me pay more for food you deem unacceptable? Sorry, I do not want more taxes. Group coverage evens out premiums for all. That is how it works. We force men to buy maternity care. My position remains WHO CARES?! War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength |

No, I'm against all health related behavioral taxes. Just making the point to remove all health related behavioral taxes. Maternity care is not a health related behavioral issue. It's obvious to me who cares. The ones that are paying more cash than the others. |

Well, that's the problem, right? The Government should have no business in healthcare. If the Federal Government (at least) got its stupid bloated nose completely out of providing healthcare, then the Federal Government would have no reason to be concerned with smoking or obesity. I agree. Why should I have to mow a neighbor's yard and my yard when the grass grows? Get their butt out there in the heat and mow their own yard. |

The government was taxing cigarettes long before they were a known health risk. The taxes are for revenue, not health. Do not htink that the government cares about our health. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength |

I both agree and disagree with this. If the Government is going to be providing healthcare to certain segments of people, or as some on the left would have it, to everyone, then the Government had better dang well be concerned with the health of the populace. I could see routine checkups and preventive stuff becoming mandatory, of course, we'd probably be two-four decades away from that happening even if the left gets its way. If you don't think the Government cares, then I have some nice property on the moon to sell you. They banned flavored cigarettes; they banned use of the word, 'Light' and most forms of advertising for cigarettes are banned; alcohol is perfectly okay, of course. The taxes are for health and revenue. The most likely category of people to be priced out are the poor---who are also the most likely to be getting Government healthcare in some form or fashion. If you can get them off of smoking, to the greatest extent possible, but keep the tax revenues basically the same, it's basically a win-win from the Government's perspective. Industries that are legal should not be forbidden from advertising or have separate taxes levied upon their products, in my opinion. Show me a state with no lottery or gambling interests whatsoever and I might make an exception; I think only four states apply to that---Alaska, Hawaii, Utah and Alabama. Of course, Alabama also has one of the lowest taxes on smokes. "War is the remedy that our enemies have chosen..let us give them all they want." William T. Sherman |

Easy, just don’t cut it until you can bail it. I suppose most don’t live where they’re given the freedom to choose to do so. |

:) I had to pay big bucks during a drought to feed a bunch of cows. Even had to ship it in on trucks from other states. |
