Ah yes, Plainfield...such memories...

Had a great Fourth of July parade back in the day.

Three movie theaters, vibrant down town, well maintained homes...and then came the riots.

As a result: "white flight," us included.

Now it's Spics and Spooks.

Ugh.

Former NJ mayoral candidate Henrilynn Ibezim (D) pleaded guilty to forging nearly 1,000 voter registration applications.

The thing that never happens happened again!

NJ Democrat Candidate Pleads Guilty to Voter Fraud

How many of those applications actually resulted in a fraudulent registration?

Seems to be a common theme trying to prove voter fraud attempts exist as some sort of proof more needs to be done. It's completely silly. (and "silly" is an overly kind description)

Californians are being urged to check their yards, bushes and flower beds for hidden cameras planted by burglars scouting homes, as local police warn of a rise in such incidents in an upscale Los Angeles suburb.

On May 12, deputies from the San Dimas Sheriff’s Station responding to a residential burglary in the 800 block of Via Gregorio discovered a “concealed surveillance device hidden in the bushes” across from the victim’s home. The apparatus consisted of a hidden camera connected to a portable Wi-Fi hotspot and an external battery pack.

Got to be the worst description of a crime. AND she survived!

Alison Botha was abducted, brutally gang-raped in an attack that also left her disemboweled, forcing her to clutch her intestines while her nearly severed head "flopped backwards and almost rested between [her] shoulder blades."

Quote:
Glancing downward, she witnessed her intestines protruding from her abdomen in a gruesome sight. She recounted the terrifying moment, explaining, "It was horrifying, there was just so much of me on the outside. I tried to scoop it all up with my hands but everything just slithered away again."

She had endured more than 50 stab wounds to her midsection.

Utilizing a piece of clothing, she attempted to keep her organs contained while shards of glass and rubble sliced her palms and knees. Half her thyroid gland was jutting from her throat.

At that moment, she realized that anyone discovering her would follow a massive blood trail, leaving her loved ones heartbroken, knowing she had endured agony in her final moments.

She continued: "My head had flopped backwards and almost rested between my shoulder blades. I expected to feel something, but was completely taken aback when my hand disappeared inside me, almost like I had swallowed myself."

I watch a lot of true crime shows, but don't watch almost any of them that involve killing women anymore
I also don't like to read books about true crime anymore, any of it. I might read something online like this, but I won't read this one

what does all that mean? I don't know, just saying
I'm Still Standing, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah [it's an old guy chant for me]

I think I've only read one true crime novel. Capote's "In Cold Blood." Can't say it made much of an impression.

I like the detective and discovery part. My favorite TV series wasn't about violent crimes, but clever or innovative methods used either in the crime or the discovery of it.

Not truly "crime related," but close enough and worth mentioning.

For those who enjoyed the old Jack Ryan series previously aired on Amazon Prime: you may have heard that a movie was made using the same characters as the serialized show, and that it is coming out now: "Jack Ryan-Ghost War."

I was told it is now streaming for free on Amazon Prime.
