I had a kidney removed about forty years ago, of course I have no idea what it cost then. At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a deterrent. |

All I can say is the hospital gave me that piece of paper that I posted before the surgery. I don;t know if it is correct or not, but that was their estimate. At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a deterrent. |

A friend of mine that works in a different hospital in Las Vegas told me he thought it would be around $125k. At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a deterrent. |

I feel like I'm watching awareness hatch right in front of me. Only question is whether we deny fact in favor of faith. I contacted SOOP several years ago for a medical emergency. Most of y'all were aware of it. That incident started as a suspected ear infection. Few months later left with an $850,000 bill. You can mentally Mary Lou Retton all you want. No matter what you "actually" pay, it's instant bankruptcy, and it's a cosmic roll of the dice for every single one of us. Even non smoking, non drinking, marathon running 20yr olds. Be bold and risk defeat, or be cautious and encourage it. |

I will update this discussion when the surgeon bill and anesthesiologist bills come in. I don;t even have a clue what they will charge for a five hour surgery. SooPoo, would you guess that the neuro-monitoring company would charge separate or do you think that would be included in the hospital bill?
