Sounds like you are OK with "jury nullification".

I'm okay with the jury system until someone comes up with something better. The defense and prosecution both get input on juror selection. You even get do overs if there is cause for it.

Right, that is how the law works. Same reason attempted murder is not murder. It's good they were stopped first and there was no violence. It's weirder that you want it considered violence.

Gotta disagree with you here. Whereas yelling in people's faces, fireworks, impeding police. blocking roads, is not violence, once you plan to execute a violent threat against people you fall into the violent category even if you were caught first. At least once they've proved intent, which is also why you can do things like carry weapons but not brandish them.
