Looks incredible.

On a much smaller scale they have a cable car in Zacatecas Mexico in the Sierra Madres which is a day's drive from Texas, or a cheap flight from Tijuana.

Actually when Paco said is it the largest Buddha in the world that jogged my memory. It's the Hong Kong Buddha on, I think, Lantau Island?

Yes!!! It is the Tian Tan Buddha.

When I was there the cable cars were not working and I had to take about a one-hour bus ride to get there from my hotel near the airport.

Where am I now?

To save the non-Spanish speakers the trouble, the inscription on the statue reads "Only the workers and farmers will last until the end." At least until Nareed translates it properly.

I doubt its First National Trust..more likely Front National Tehahchipul or something.
So to answer your question of "where am I" you are in some place where you ought not to be!

Yes, good get. I guess the "A.C. Sandino" inscription on the quote gave it away. I've never heard of the FNT, though. (Thought it was the FSLN?)

Given where we know the Wizard to have been, that was the only place which would have a Soviet style monument.

I thought Nicaragua had pretty good odds, so I threw in the only city I knew and got lucky experienced positive variance
