(Well we are back at war, well we have been at war, I mean we are back to firing.)

I do not know, nor do I claim Iran is winning. What I do know, we are certainly not winning anything. We are exponentially worse off that before the war started.

We are blowing up their shoreline now as of this hour? Cool, that is certainly going to help me feed my family this week much more than the lost school lunch funding would.... We are losing because we gained nothing. We just spent money and are damaging our economy for literally zero reason, this is a loss.

We are suffering more than a teeny bit. And, please save your rant about SP500 and Gold Prices. Americans living in mobile homes in the swamp who cannot afford gas or eggs are not benefiting by higher gold and SP500 prices... Once again a good stock market actually does not matter for a large portion of America, in fact it is often a bad sign (a good market and very high prices with very high unemployment is a warning of a coming recession, so good markets are often not a good thing for the average American....)

Gandler would have said ‘how is liberating the concentration camps going to help feed my family?’ Our government, Dem or Repub led, does a gazillion things that de facto make it harder to ‘feed your family’.

‘We are suffering more than a teeny bit’. You and I have different definitions of the word ‘suffering’. Having to cancel one of your Netflix/Prime/or Paramount plus subscriptions and eat out once less a month doesn’t meet my ‘suffering’ standard.

Ended up today. I guess investors changed their minds after reading your post?!?

It ended a little bit up, but the end was a few hundred less than it was early in the day before herr Trumpf got his daily bullshit parade up and running.

With the advent of AI ("the next big thing") we are once again in the wild west of tech, the sky is the limit: heck, the fat oaf cut regulations to aid the wealthy...so why is the market not doing even better?

inflation, war, and political division are hurting the impetus of the rally, akin to having to hike with an extra 30-50 pounds in your backpack.

Should be interesting to see how the upcoming tech IPO's fare.

Doc, you should never suffer economically, nor should I: we were both professionals, you a sawbones, me a shyster so yeah, we don't and won't really suffer.

But those not as well off, those with minimum wage jobs, no savings or investiments, the untold millions living hand to mouth, paycheck to paycheck: those are the ones feeling the pain, the ones prone to suffering.

Which is not to say that you and I do not experience the economic consequences of the fat oaf's folly: we do, but the affect on our lives is less obvious.

Inflation is surging, good jobs are tough to find, and by report belief in the American Dream is becoming a memory, replaced by a belief by the young that the USA is not better than most other countries, is no longer welcoming immigrants, and in fact is not a successful democracy.

The problem is not the underlying framework: the problem is the shitty, low quality people who get elected and ramrod divisive, polarizing agendas: so very "UnAmerican."

I like this post. I am not disagreeing that inflation is bad. But I think we are more resilient to these things than the whiners understand. Remember your life during COVID?

I’m not even saying the war has been ‘worth it’ overall. But to make it seem like nothing good has come is not something I can agree with. The destruction of Iran’s Air Force, Navy, previous regime, …. the showing them that they have NO ability to protect their own air space, the showing that we can shut down their economy as easy as they can shut down Hormuz….. All good.

I disagree on ‘good jobs are hard to find’. Wife’s daughter got great job in cybersecurity. Friends grandkids, straight from High School, are joining ‘the union’ and will be making nearly $100k now! I see ads ‘starting at $25 an hour’ signs all over. It’s easier than ever to get into law school. Heck, get a nursing degree, then upgrade to CRNA, and start at north of $200k. If you have a little smarts and a little work ethic life is good.

And that is BULLSHIT that we don’t welcome immigrants. We don’t welcome ILLEGAL immigrants. I’ve trained HUNDREDS of immigrant doctors. They were more than welcomed.

Not saying the war has been good for US. Just you have to be delusional to think Iran is winning anything. Their country cannot protect its skies. Its shores. It’s bats. Can’t export or import. Has no access to large swaths of its ‘assets’. Has had its top leaders killed. Its Jew leader is afraid to show his face ANYWHERE. The people have a currency in free fall. If you think being able to bomb ships off your shores is winning I can’t help you.

Translation
Soopoo is angry that Iran is not surrendering and instead causing Trump massive political problems with a forever war by keeping the strait closed

Meanwhile, the strait is still closed, gas and energy prices are higher and inflation is still rampant. Iran is even more hardline than the leaders Israel took out. Last week's jobs report and unemployment news was good, supposedly. Then that same news caused the markets to drop.

So much winning!

Gandler would have said ‘how is liberating the concentration camps going to help feed my family?’

You sound like an America First Republican pre-WW2...

Yes Gandler would say that. But, when the axis powers actually invaded and attacked our territories in the Pacific, Gandler would be the first to defend. This is the difference between those who took a rifle after Pearl Harbor and those who were warmongering Congress to invade Germany based on allegations.

I am sure many people are being abused in Iran. Gay people certainly are on a widespread level (which is something you probably support anyway,) but people being abused is not a license for regime change.

China is far worse than Iran in the modern world. They have actual concentration camps. How should we deal with China? If there is no cost, and the only thing that matters is ethics per you, why not do a land invasion of a nuclear power with a massive military?

Trump has done the most bad for affordability in a 12 month period than any other President in history between tariffs and illegal wars. And, these are direct effects, Trump can't blame the wars and tariffs on Biden, these are his baby.

You don't understand suffering because you have never been, nobody on here from the right has been in the military or grew up poor. Your definition of suffering is more meaningless than mine, and mine is probably meaningless compared to people my age that were born in Somalia for example, and their is probably meaningless compared to a Frenchman in Agincourt. The comparison Olympics can be endless, especially if you go back into history indefinitely.

You are just a jerk. You say I would support gay people being abused?

How do you know I didn’t grow up poor?

And how would you possibly know no one from ‘the right’ has been in the military? Or grown up poor?

I was essentially raised by a divorced mother, who did her best for me and my sister, with virtually no support from my father. I don’t know if we would have qualified as poor. Back then we referred to ourselves as ‘lower middle class.’

If you were in the military, then thank you for your service.

We The People will soon see what the world REALLY thinks of America and its current political mess during the World Cup.

Will the world come in droves to watch the games and enjoy whatever America has to offer?

Or will most fans hold their nose, stay home and watch it on TV?

I know how I'd bet.
