It changed my way of thinking, that is when I started sniffing glue and talking Jive. At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a deterrent. |

So, I'd go with Woody Allen's "Love and Death" Then maybe "Caddyshack" Although it's a bit uneven, IMO. Coppola's "The Godfather" and "Apocalypse Now" are both top movies of all time. But my favorite director is Kubrick. If Kubrick was still alive and could do 2001 as a 2020 remake, that could be my favorite movie. Favorite multi-movie Lord of the Rings series. Most disappointing attempt at making a movie from a book "Crime and Punishment". Multiple attempts and I find them all wanting. "Trumpsplain (def.) explaining absolute nonsense said by TRUMP. |

I agree with you on almost everything, except Caddyshack, its ok, not my favorite kind of humor. But, yes Godfather and Apocalypse Now are great (Apoclsypse Now edged out Godfather in my view). Kubrick is a great director because of his variety of movies. I like Paths of Glory, I think its one of his underrated movies. And LOTR (not the Hobbit trilogy), are close to pefect (again like Apocalypse Now, I prefer the extended versions, even though they make already long movies even longer, but thats not a bad thing for good movies). |

I'm not a good enough movie reviewer to say why it is so good, but it has something to do with the intensity combined with a hazy surrealism. In the same genera of Vietnam movies, The Deer Hunter is the most disturbing movie I have ever seen. I suppose that makes it a good movie since it's meant to be disturbing. But after seeing it once, I don't ever want to take that ride again. A government of laws and not of men. - John Adam’s |
