What Women Want. What a cute movie
with a really clever premise. Mel Gibson
gets electrocuted and can read women's
minds. Helen Hunt is so gorgeous in this
movie, so sexy, so beautiful. She was 37,
and for a lot of women that's their peak
period. A nice way to spend 2 hours.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

What Women Want.

"What Women Want" was very charming, and reminds us that Mel Gibson was once one of the most beloved movie stars in the world. Six years later he would shout out "F__ing Jews... the Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world. Are you a Jew?". Not a good statement for someone who works in Hollywood to make.

"What Women Want" is the most successful film directed by Nancy Myers (Born: December 8, 1949 :age 66), BoxOfficeMojo lists her as the most financially successful female director (based on domestic earnings).

Worldwide (Unadjusted)
1 What Women Want Par. $374.1 million 2000
2 Something's Gotta Give Sony $266.7 2003
3 It's Complicated Uni. $219.1 2009
4 The Holiday Sony $205.1 2006
5 The Intern WB $194.6 2015
6 The Parent Trap BV $92.1 1998
Total: $1,351.8 million

Lilly & Lana Wachowski would put them well above Nancy Myers both domestically and worldwide.
Lilly & Lana Wachowski $714.6 million domestic for 7 films
Nancy Meyers $625.6 domestic for 6 films.

But Lilly & Lana were both male when they made the Matrix trilogy. So I don't know if they now retroactively take the record.

Kelly Asbury (Born: January 15, 1960 :age 56) is the only female director to have directed a film that made close to a billion dollars worldwide. All three of her films have all been animated.

Worldwide (Unadjusted)
1 Shrek 2 DW $919.8 million (2004)
2 Gnomeo and Juliet BV $194.0 (2011)
3 Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron DW $122.6 (2002)
Total: $1,236.4 million
UPCOMING RELEASES Smurfs: The Lost Village Sony 4/7/17

Domestically (unadjusted)
Nancy Meyers $625.6 million for 6 films
Kelly Asbury $614.5 million for 3 films

So unless Nancy Meyers directs a film before Kelly Asbury directs the Smurfs, the title will go to Kelly.

Earth 2 has been revived on Netflix after 22 years. A very ambitious series that only lasted 21 episodes, on of the stars was a little girl who sadly died before age 22.

Where did you see that news? I watched that series (on netflix) with my kids a few years ago.

Not about her death, about the series being revived.

It was on this list (#4 out of 11)

I read somewhere that they were airing the show on Netflix to give it a trial run and see if it was worth reviving.

I have been watching "The Big Short" a story of the mortgage collapse. I love it because I lived so much of it. We all knew it could not be sustained, but what could you do. We did not know just how exposed the investment banks were, though. We would shake our heads at loan officers being allowed to use their own appraisers and the value rarely missed. "Speed" was the mantra. My place didn't even do the worst of them, though one loan officer I was told did some time.

If you liked "Boiler Room" or "Margin Call" or "Money Never Sleeps" you will probably love it. If you want a chick-flick with the wife fugheddabaddit.

Ahh. That article just looks like wishful thinking to me. Earth 2 has been on Netflix for a long time.

Farscape is my favorite from that list. That's currently on Netflix too.

I just watched "The Little Prince" on Netflix because it is a great book. The movie is pretty good and it is a great help for anyone who has lost someone very special to them.

I knew there was more than one reason why I hate that book.
