Been folowing this interesting lawsuit.
I buy a cup from starbucks once in a while.
Usually a cold Frap. Love it and cant get burned.
Have bought hot coffee.
Ist thing I do is make sure the lid is secure.
Then take it off for sugar and cream.
Put it back on.
Regardless, I am very careful, its hot.
Sounds like the cop was not careful. He burned himself. Oh Well.

Was shocked to see a Peace office sue starbucks.
This wins and the whole company goes out of business.
Evey scam artist will claim they got burned.
I totally agree with the jury, police officer gets nothing.

Same thing happened at MCD way back, "Seinfeld" even spoofed it. Liability law in the USA is insane.

Juries often think 'injury' means someone else 'pays for it'.

McDonalds did serve its coffee fifteen degrees hotter than others. A woman put on a sloped sports car seat between her legs and the driver caused it to spill giving her prolonged contact with the hot coffee due to her panties taking so long to remove, they being of the overalls type that was popular at the time.

Coffee is hot. Hands are for sensing temperature and holding something securely.

She was elderly, as I remember.

Coffee is hot! I agree. I don't even know how they won that case, as I certainly prefer coffee that would scald me if I spilled it, yet can still sip it.

Good thing they weren't serving flaming fajitas plates or we'd have to eat them after being doused in cold water.
You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?

He should have had Jackie Chiles as his attorney.
