This actually looks pretty good. The movie was great,
I have the DVD. Is this the first TV show from a Phillip
K Dick story? There should be more.

They all seem to be feature length films except for "The Man in the High Castle". Strangely IMDB is not giving Philip K Dick credit for the new TV series,

2013 The Pipers (Short)
2013 The Crystal Crypt (Short) (short story)

The Man in the High Castle? Wasn't Nareed praising that story a couple years ago? Amazon Prime has created the pilot

Pilot episode was so so. I got bored and turned it off before the end.

I watched a bunch of clips and the actors are
too young and inexperienced. The writing looks
inadequate and choppy. Couple that with bad
acting and it's a dud. They blew the budget in CG,
not a good move.

You know, I never liked Blade Runner. I tried reading the book, and I found it even worse than the movie. That was my break with Dick, until I accidentally saw Screamers. Not bad, nice ambience, but ultimately pointless. I had high hopes for Minority Report, but, again, it missed the mark widely.

I mean, the basic premise presents two philosophical issues: 1) preemptive punishment without trial and 2) enslaving an individual for "the common good." But these are presented as plot devices for what is, essentially, a generic Tom Cruise Action Movie (pat. pend.)

Curiously a Futurama satire of this movie managed to lay the second issue out more explicitly and with a resolution.

Minority Report outright bombed, ranking as the night’s lowest-rated show on a major broadcast network in the demo despite being a heavily promoted premiere.

Steven Spielberg's live action TV shows are not very reliable. The ranking by Indie Wire (up to 2014) heavily favors animated shows (5 of top 10).

MR sucks, but so does Kimmy and I'm Alone But Not Really.
They both were nominated for Emmys. It feels like I'm losing
touch.

If Smash has begun with the second season rather than the first, and taken the story slower, it'd still be on now.
