What's the inner surface area of a cylinder 500 meters long and 50 meters wide, without taking the ends into account?

That would be the length of one dimension times the length of the other.
One dimension is 500m
The other dimension is the circumference, 50m times PI

So the surface area is 500 * 50 * PI

That's about 78,500 square meters.

Assuming an inside diameter of 50m

It's justa rolled up rectangle, so the only hard part is working out the width of the rectangle.
