The talent, scholastic, music or pet competitions are all fine. What I don't like is a society which has already pushed sexuality onto grade schoolers, from which we won't get away from in our lifetimes. Jonbonet herself might have been some kind of superstar, and great for her. But what about everyone else? These competitions are about [by the promoters] what everything else is,,,money. I see no objective reason to portray little girls as more mature sex objects. We reap in what we sow. Make sex objects out of little girls for the entire world to see, and there of course are those that will treat them that way. Sure, the press could have portrayed her as a non sexual person, which they should have, IMO. But that is not the way these things go, you know it, I know it. What the world sees is a sex contest, the same way the adult pageants are viewed. Do people really watch the Miss America contest to find out what the contestants opinion on world peace is? Maybe these parents were unique in the parent contestant universe, but don't pretend that many, many parents aren't trying to live out their lives vicariously through their kids. Dress up little girls like beauty queens, and make it OK with the commentators on the wide screen and voila, you got pin up photo's for perverts. Plain and simple. You also create a few winners, and a whole lot of losers. Kids already have enough trouble with their self esteem and schools often are little more than state sponsored day care. The main problem may not be the winners, but everyone else. The losers are going to have mental problems forever, as will the less than balanced voyeurs. The last official act of any government is to loot the treasury. GW |

It's very fake, the young girl is super fake excited at every little thing the man does to her. This is a Japanese mans idea of what a woman should be, she just can't get enough of him. Here we call it having a low self esteem problem. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Ayecarumba Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 89 Posts: 1744 | There is a whole industry in Japan of businesses that cater to "company men" who, after working late into the night in an office culture that denies individual wants and needs in favor of the group, want to be pampered, told they are fun to be with, and that they are attractive. Geisha have been a cultural staple in Japan for hundreds of years. Women in Japan have had it bad for hundreds of years, and young woment continue to be objectified and publicly abused by lecherous men. There are even separate train cars for women during rush hours to cut down on the groping incidents. Freaky culture. |

lol....that's what porn is about everywhere in the world, if it's aimed at men, that is. Aimed at women, and we get 50 Shades of Grey or romance novels with Fabio on the cover. |
