After 9/11 we went to war with Afghanistan. Now Osama Bin Laden was thought to be in Afghanistan, but only 8 miles from the Pakistan border Afghanistan's political instability and control by the Taliban made them the most likely candidate for war.

Yemen is completely unstable, and without a formal government for a year. Elements in the country support ISIS, but they are not necessarily ground zero.

But Yemen seems more of a candidate than Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, or Syria.

I don't see us getting to 'boots on the ground'

supporting Saudi intervention, perhaps our own air sorties, is all I can imagine

Iran has supported the Houthis who wish to govern there own country after the Western puppet ran out of town on a boat. http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-03-25/armed-us-weapons-yemen-rebels-advance-president-saudi-arabia-prepares-war

The Saud's who are at war with the Houthis, also support ISIS. Iran is at war with ISIS in Iraq, Syria and Yemen.

The struggle to maintain empire through proxy wars continues in Yemen.
