Although Disney's Cable woes have been reported with cable cutter's affecting ESPN bottom line, they are still increasing income in absolute numbers from cable channels.
Cable has dropped to 49.73% of total operating income, down from 56.39% last year
Broadcast has dropped to 6.57% of total operating income, down from 6.69% last year

Studio Entertainment more than doubled last year with the success of "Frozen", and should go through the roof this year with Star Wars.

Disney is renaming it's cable channel from "ABC Family" after 14+ years to "Freeform" in January, further distancing itself from broadcast which lags further and further behind. They are clearly hoping to get more of the young adult audience (especially female) and lose any association with small children.

The six names of America's second cable channel (behind TBS)
April 29, 1977 CBN Satellite Service (Pat Robertson)
August 1, 1988 The CBN Family Channel
September 15, 1990 The Family Channel
August 14, 1998 Fox Family Channel
November 10, 2001 ABC Family
January 12, 2016 Freeform

Investors have urged Disney to at least sell of their 8 owned and operated TV stations and use the money on more profitable ventures.

An increasing share of a declining market is a plan for disaster, down the tube. Drip-drip-drip.

OTOH, if you have other ventures it is a cash cow for many years. Ford Panther cars are a classic example here.
The President is a fink.
