There have been a huge number of very
smart people in the last couple hundred
years who say he definitely did not.

" The gospels were written many decades or even a century after Jesus' estimated year of death, by individuals who likely never met Jesus, and then were edited or forged over the centuries by unknown scribes with their own agendas.
There are no surviving historic records about Jesus of Nazareth from any non-Jewish author until the second century, and Jesus left no writings or other archaeological evidence.
Certain gospel stories are similar to those of dying-and-rising gods, demigods (sons of gods), solar deities, saviors or other divine men such as Horus, Mithra/Mithras, Prometheus, Dionysus, Osiris, Buddha, and Krishna, as well as Christ-like historical figures like Apollonius of Tyana." Paul Bruno 1839

There is a staggering amount of info out
there that suggests that Jesus never even
existed. Having faith that he did and was
who he said he was, is not a leap, it's more
like a 60 ft high jump.

The Life History Of Jesus Parallels That Of Other Mythical Beings Too Closely To Be Real.
The City Of Nazareth Did Not Exist During The Time Jesus Is Reputed To Have Been Alive.
There Are No Tangible Historical Artifacts Linked To Jesus.
There Is No Historical Evidence Of An Eclipse, Earthquake Or Rending Of The Veil In The Temple Supposed To Have Happened At The Moment Of Jesus’ Death.

The New Testament Was Designed To Promote Christianity Not Document Historical Fact.
The Earliest Books Of The New Testament, The Epistles Of Paul, Do Not Ever Refer To Jesus As A Living Being.
The Gospels Are Unlikely To Have Been Written By Disciples Who Knew Jesus.
The Gospels Were Written As Christian Propaganda
All Later Accounts Of The Life Of Jesus Are Pure Hearsay
There is no contemporaneous account of the life of Jesus

"The first problem we encounter when trying to discover more about the Historical Jesus is the lack of early sources. The earliest sources only reference the clearly fictional Christ of Faith. These early sources, compiled decades after the alleged events, all stem from Christian authors eager to promote Christianity – which gives us reason to question them. The authors of the Gospels fail to name themselves, describe their qualifications, or show any criticism with their foundational sources – which they also fail to identify. Filled with mythical and non-historical information, and heavily edited over time, the Gospels certainly should not convince critics to trust even the more mundane claims made therein."

This is one of the oddest passages in the NT:

“For if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ has not been raised, then all our preaching is useless, and your faith is useless. And we apostles would all be lying about God—for we have said that God raised Christ from the grave. But that can’t be true if there is no resurrection of the dead. And if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, then your faith is useless and you are still guilty of your sins. In that case, all who have died believing in Christ are lost! And if our hope in Christ is only for this life, we are more to be pitied than anyone in the world. – 1 Corinthians 15:13-19”

Even Paul wasn't 100% sure the Jesus
myth was real.

FrG can't prove god exists, that sin exists,
or even that Jesus was real. That's why
faith is such a big part of Christianity,
you have to totally suspend your disbelief.

Eventually Evenbob will get around to question whether Jesus has even been on velvet like Elvis

Elvis on velvet
You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?

Almost as exciting as when Geraldo opened
Al Capone's vault. Like they know this is
the right tomb. They enclosed it 1500 years
after the fact, it could anybodies tomb.

Admittedly I haven't studied the subject extensively but my understanding is that the person in the bible referred to as Jesus DID exist and there has been quite a lot of evidence to support this. What isn't supported by evidence of course is any of the nonsense about miracles, being the son of god, resurrecting etc. Jesus was no more the son of god than David Koresh was.
