George H. W. Bush spent his four years as POTUS facing a Democratic majority Senate
101st Congress (1989-1991)
Majority Party: Democrat (55 seats)
Minority Party: Republican (45 seats)
102nd Congress (1991-1993)
Majority Party: Democrat (56 seats)
Minority Party: Republican (44 seats)

Clinton spent his last sex years as POTUS facing a Republican majority Senate
103rd Congress (1993-1995)
Majority Party: Democrat (57 seats)
Minority Party: Republican (43 seats)
104th Congress (1995-1997)
Majority Party: Republican (52 seats)
Minority Party: Democrat (48 seats)
105th Congress (1997-1999)
Majority Party: Republican (55 seats)
Minority Party: Democrat (45 seats)
106th Congress (1999-2001)
Majority Party: Republican (55 seats)
Minority Party: Democrat (45 seats)

Right now there are 22 Republicans and 11 Democrats expected to be up for election in 2020. Mitch McConnell will be age 78. Thad Cochran will be age 83. Jim Inhofe will be age 86. The Democrats will have a better shot at returning to the majority in 2020.

Kirsten is expected to crush her re-election in NY state marking 10 years in the Senate at the ripe old age of 52. She has said she is ruling out a Presidential run in 2020, but with Hillary's old seat and her popularity, many will push her to be a candidate.

Very annoying we have a senate race where the Democrat was cheating on his wife while running for office. Because at least it is considerate of the electorate (if not of anyone else) if you don't risk actively screwing your campaign up during the election. People are potentially wasting their time and money on you when there is probably some equally electable from the same party. Was it John Edwards who was engaged in an affair during the campaign? Or was that before? HIs was so bad, it didn't matter when it happened as he did it while his wife had cancer.

Quote:
In October 2020, it was reported that Cunningham had exchanged sexually suggestive messages with a woman who was not his wife. Cunningham confirmed the texts were authentic and apologized for his behavior.[45][47] Several days after the first text messages were released, more were published. The woman, a married public relations strategist from California, confirmed that she had engaged in a consensual physical relationship with Cunningham in 2020.[48] The Army Reserve subsequently started an investigation into Cunningham.[49]

You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?

The most interesting Senate race this year is Lindsey Graham vs. Jamie Harrison in South Carolina.

Jamie Harrison has raised a TON of cash. So much that he literally won’t be able to spend it all before Election Day.

Look who paid for this ad:

It’s actually a brilliant chess move. He’s trying to siphon off some far-right voters into voting for Bill Bledsoe instead of Lindsey.

Kind of the Trump 2016 strategy: you don’t need to get to 50% if enough people throw their vote away on some third party loser.
