The Carrier deal was fake news
Trump was fact checked by the union rep and Trump blew a gasket lol
I don't think the right can deal with the facts regarding the Carrier deal

They can't. That's why they keep ignoring you.

Rush hasn't told them what to think yet.

Worse than that, it's bad policy.

Do you want a chief executive who'll be putting out trade fires all the time? How about a government that picks winners and losers? And now businesses know they can shake down the Feds for tax breaks and subsidies by threatening to move to Mexico. Often taking an inflexible stand makes you weak, not strong.

Like the AF1 kerfuffle. If the Orange Man wants to remake military procurement to save money, that'd be great (though recall the hewing and crying and rending of garments by the right wing when Vice President Al Gore tried to do the same in the 90s). But singling out a relatively small deal is meaningless. Government agencies are inherently inefficient when it comes to procurement. Specialty items not available to the public, like military gear, can get ridiculously expensive.

Unfortunately reforming such things is liable to have mixed results, and it definitely takes more than a few tweets to make it happen.

Ironically, I think EB has posted more unreliable junk news links in his years here than anyone else. For him to be outraged over "fake news" is kind of funny.

That could get me a stay in the Phantom Zone, but it's worth it.

DJT has the only qualification he needs to run the country.... he won the vote.

It's not necessarily a good indicator, but that's the one he needed.

I just expect more spin for the next 4 years.

Nonsense. If my cat won the election, he still wouldn't be qualified. Having a job--any job--and being qualified for it are two different things.

The overarching theme that is emerging is that he doesn't want to do the hard work that it would take to learn the job. I'm not saying that it wouldn't be at least theoretically possible for a completely inexperienced person to grow into the job--if that person had the temperament, the discipline, and the HUMILITY to do so. The OO lacks all of those things.

The danger of Bob bringing any actual facts into the discussion is minimal. Could happen accidentally though.

It was nuts this week. The Trump Rally
on Wall st, or the 'Trump Bump' as they
call it, continues it's rise to 20,000. The
Dow gained 580 points this week, 1400
since the election. America loves Donald
Trump.

Rex Tillerson has been an Exxon employee since 1975. That's a long long long time. Even if he is legally forced to liquidate all his shares of XOM stock, he'll always have an emotional soft spot for the company which will surely impact his decisions as Trump's Secretary of State.

I'm not saying this to necessarily criticize the man, perhaps he'll do his best to be an impartial government servant. Nevertheless, now might be a good time for the rest of us to buy some shares of XOM.

Tillerson will make a great SoS. He
has a ton of experience dealing
with other countries, especially
Russia. They gave him some kind
of friendship award a few years
ago. It's great to see Trump picking
so many seasoned business people
for his cabinet, people who know
how to get things done.
