We have as much or more security as they did in the days of the Founders. What do you think we have- a living Constitution!?

We do not have a "living" Constitution. The Constitution is a contract. Contract terms do not change with the times.

Every security measure you whine about; voter ID, purging rolls. affects all parties and racial groups equally. Totally colorblind. Totally partyblind.

So, unless you are in favor of voter fraud, what are you so afraid of?

Everyone knows the Founders were very strict about the need for photo ID to vote.

Just kidding.

Duffman has given no defense. He just knows the harder it is to vote, the better his side does. So he’ll make up nonsense about fraud and laziness to try to support his position. But he knows it’s BS.

Stop treating him like he’s arguing in good faith.

Yes. Very inefficient to drag voting over a week or more. One day is plenty. Very inefficient to try to make a system to make mail in voting secure.

Get off the couch and get to the polls. Simple and efficient.

There are two ways to increase voter turnout as evidenced by European and South American countries (and Australia), I guarantee you that all the usual suspects will oppose both:

1. Mandatory Voting. Make all citizens required to vote and punished if they do not turn out to the polls. When countries enact these laws, voting rates go up.

2. Allow remote voting. This includes mail in voting and eventually online voting. Also, I include early voting in this category (since it is generally at a different location).

If you are against both of these, you cannot seriously claim to care about voting turnout. I support both options, voting should be mandatory and there should be remote options (mail and early voting for now, eventually online).

I support voter ID. I even have no problem with biometric ID (fingerscans). I also support a federal ID (linked to a bio account), so nobody can say that I am not serious about centralized ID.

The reality is, Republicans are in power because of lazy young people, I have no problem to admit this. As voting becomes easier, blue will spread much faster. Republicans already cannot win the popular vote in major presidential elections in decades.... Even if Trump wins re-election (unlikely) he will be the last Republican President. Republicans want more people to vote, until they realize that most people who don't vote will always vote Blue (young people, students, homeless people, young professionals, even some middle aged people), Republicans hold power because of malaise, it is the type of power that will not last many more generations.

The military has been doing mail in voting for deployed servicemembers since the civil war (with all states allowing in by WWII, and not one case of serious fraud). (By the way this is something that many Republicans would love to take away because of so many young people in the military.....).

Mandatory voting? Hell no. Silly idea. Why would anyone have such a silly idea?

I do NOT want people too lazy to go to the polls or too uninformed to care to vote. I want engaged voters who know who and what they are voting for.

Online voting? Totally unsecure. And what about when it crashes? Heck, we will have Democrats saying we need to hand out laptops and provide "free" high speed internet because "minorities can't get either one."

One more thing is we need to raise the voting age back to 21. If you are not old enough to buy cigarettes or beer at 18 why should you be allowed to vote at that age?

Ask the majority of South America, Mexico, Australia, and Belgium, it works for them.... (And some various countries in Africa and Asia)….

You realize poll results are already stored on a computer? What happens when that crashes? Or should all ballots be paper?

Naw, you can't have kids dying fighting for a country who can't vote for the leaders who put them there.

All three are both unneeded and not secure. The party that could not handle their IA caucus in an app wants online voting? What a joke.

Get off the couch and vote on election day. That simple. Do Democrats think their voters are so lazy they cannot do that?

How many times have they "found" ballots from early voting or mail in voting? NO THANKS!

There is EVERY reason to oppose it. How do you know the ballot was not stolen or from a dead person? How do you know the ballots are kept secure?

Mail-in is an INVITATION TO FRAUD. Why do you think the Democrats want it? Makes cheating easier than ever.

You need to learn about security and procedures.

Well, they don't think they are smart enough to obtain a government issued ID

Duffman assumes even with ID, people are too deceitful to make voting easy. That BS won't play. It's every bit as insulting as saying they're dumb.

Conservatives were against making the age 18 (it used to be 21 to vote until the 1970s ) because they knew it would be a huge boost for the left. Especially with all of the organized movements in universities during the 60s and 70s.....

Soon they will have to raise the age to 50 to stay in power in all but a few states.....

The idea of raising the voting age is so archaic its almost comical.... You are expected to start working at 14, can join the military at 17, can go to college before 18... But somehow 18 is still too young to vote....

Nope, never said that. Voting IS easy. I do say voting is supposed to be harder than ordering a pizza.

Your side is the one saying they are dumb.

But it is somehow too young to buy beer, cigarettes, and if liberals have their way a gun. 18 was a lot more mature when they lowered it than it is now. Today 18 year olds act like children. How many say they did not understand they had to pay back the student loans when they signed for them at that age? How can a person who does not understand that understand how to vote? How can you say a person not old enough for cigarettes is old enough to vote.

21 is the new 18.
