I'm thinking of taking the family on a one-week ski trip for Spring break, which is the last week of March this year. I've heard great things about Park City, but the elevation is not that high, and I hear they close down Easter week. Any suggestions on a place with a ski season that lasts at least into April, friendly to novices, and convenient to Las Vegas?

Being so close to Brianhead, I'd assume you've already been there, and are ruling it out. But just in case.

Consider Mammoth Mountain in California. It's a long day's drive from Las Vegas, but a great resort area.

Colorado's Copper Mountain might be too far to be "convenient", but that high altitude area has a long season, and different, world class resorts to try out.

I've never been to Durango, but looking at the map of Colorado, it seems the closest by automobile.
