What American was (1) married a member of another nation, (2) a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, (3) a U.S. Senator, the (4&5) governor of two separate states, and (6) President of his country?

In chronological order
1793 born
(2) Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Tennessee's 7th district In office March 4, 1823 – March 4, 1827
(4) 6th Governor of Tennessee In office October 1, 1827 – April 16, 1829
(1) Tiana Rogers (d. 1838),
(6) In office December 21, 1841 – December 9, 1844
(3) United States Senator from Texas In office February 21, 1846 – March 4, 1859
(5) 7th Governor of Texas In office December 21, 1859 – March 16, 1861

This is a good trivia question, as only one man in history has been governor of two different states.

Sam Houston. I guessed, and then I checked. I see that "president of his country" was a nice obfuscation.

(6) Not a real country.

Extra hint: re-established slavery in a region where it had been abolished.
