Hehe... That's like saying, "Let's park our school bus on the railroad tracks when the train is scheduled to cross. If anyone lives, they will have a great story to tell!" |

Indeed. I've said this many times but I think Prometheus was an outstanding movie and perfectly set up for at least one sequel. I'm disappointed to learn that most of Alien Covenant runs down the familiar story line of a monster movie. Hopefully, it will answer some questions or bring closure to Prometheus, even if given only a token opening act of the movie. Six days to go. In other news, has anyone seen Life? The user comments at IMDB seem in almost unanimous agreement that it is a rip-off of Alien. Most saying a bad rip-off but some give a lukewarm good review, despite the comparisons to Alien. I saw Life. I thought it was fun and entertaining. It is absolutely a rip-off of Alien and Gravity, but that didn't bother me. “A straight man will not go for kids.” - AZDuffman |

Thanks. I don't immediately rule out a movie if it is rip-off, especially if the original was bad. Knowledge is Good -- Emil Faber |

Despite Morgan Freeman in the cast of the remake, I don't see how the original could be improved upon. Knowledge is Good -- Emil Faber |

Nareed Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 346 Posts: 12545 | I've read two reviews of the new Alien movie (at The Verge and Popular Mechanics of all places). One was positive, the other wasn't, but both agree it's a horror movie. Here's a topic: the original 1979 "Alien" was "Jaws" in a spaceship. Discuss. Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |
