Posts: 18762 | Good News Quote: A federal judge on Thursday sentenced to prison a former Florida state legislator who catapulted to national attention for being the sponsor of a bill barring classroom instruction about sexual orientation and gender identity that was called by its critics the “Don’t Say Gay” bill.
Former Rep. Joe Harding (R-Williston), who plead guilty in March to one count each of wire fraud, money laundering and making false statements as part of a scheme to fraudulently obtain a $150,000 federal Covid-19 relief loan, was sentenced to four months in prison.
U.S. District Judge Allen Winsor, who was appointed to the bench by former President Donald Trump, also sentenced Harding to two years of supervised release following his prison sentence. Court records show that Harding is scheduled to surrender to authorities on Jan. 29.

North Hertfordshire Museum will now refer to emperor Elagabalus with the female pronouns of she and her.
It comes after classical texts claim the emperor once said "call me not Lord, for I am a Lady".
The museum has one coin of Elagabalus, which is often displayed amongst other LGBTQ+ items in its collection.
Marcus Aurelius Antoninus, better known as Elagabalus, ruled the Roman empire for just four years from 218AD to his assassination, aged 18, in 222AD.
He became an increasingly controversial figure over his short reign, developing a reputation for sexual promiscuity.
Cassius Dio, a senator and contemporary of Elagabalus, writes in his historical chronicles that the emperor was married five times - four times to women, and once to Hiercoles, a former slave and chariot driver.
I
n this final marriage, Dio writes that the emperor "was bestowed in marriage and was termed wife, mistress and queen".
