and born without "original sin"..

As were we all, why single her
out as somebody special.
The concept of original sin
hadn't even been invented
yet when Jesus was born.

Why is immaculate conception even
connected to the Jesus fable. It
didn't become Church doctrine
till 1854. Jesus knew nothing about
it, Mary certainly didn't. Original
sin wasn't dreamed up till the 4th
century by Augustine. It's not in
the Bible, Jesus would have thought
you were off your rocker if you
brought it up with him. He was
strictly a hard line old school Jew.

"The doctrine of original sin is totally unacceptable to Jews. Jews believe that man enters the world free of sin,
with a soul that is pure and innocent and untainted. The term “original sin” is unknown to the Jewish Scriptures,
and the Church’s teachings on this doctrine are antithetical to the core principles of the Torah and its prophets."

an·ti·thet·i·cal
adjective
1.
directly opposed or contrasted; mutually incompatible.

The concept of original sin
would have been insulting
to Jesus and he would have
put you in your place for
mentioning it.

Actually it happened in the Garden of Eden. Eve got Adam to eat the apple. And women have gotten men to do bad things ever since.

Augustine lived in the 4th century. He was the first person to use the phrase "original sin".

I don't know why I had 16th
stamped on my brain. I was
linking to something else.
The point is OS did not exist
in Jesus time, especially to
a Jew.

"The doctrine of original sin has little basis in the Bible. It began to emerge in the 3rd century but only became fully formed with the writings of Augustine of Hippo (354–430)."

But it wasn't called original sin
for a thousand years after
the fable was written. That was
thought up hundreds of years
after Jesus died.

I would break off these "original sin" posts, but that feature isn't working. Please make a separate thread for it if you want to discuss that. Subsequent posts here on the topic will be considered hijacking.
