You don't want children to be challenged to think at all!

Yeah, teachers will tell your kid 2+2 is 4, all day every day. Good for them. If kid wants to oppose the message he can work out the argument over time. I've never met one teacher or prof who told me I had to believe government was the answer. We had open-end discussions sometimes on subjects. Big deal. .

Parents can tell their children the Earth is flat, and god lives in your head at home when they talk to them everyday at home. Or viruses don't exist. I don't give a f***. Or they can tell them to be an atheist or devil worshipper at home. If it's not against the law they can tell them anything at home.

The government system is what indoctrinates.

So the worst private education system on Earth (no education) could be better than socialized training camps all wearing the same uniform behind fences.

That's the direction we're going.

We will be happy with nothing.

Were you dropped on your head?
You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?

From what I can tell, most of them don't teach that Columbus discovered the Americas anymore. Of course, we were taught that in, I think, third grade. That assertion was later corrected.

1k per month to the homeless? Not that I agree with the money, but you really can't point to a homeless problem in a major city and say, "Wow! What a $4!+hole," and then take issue with them trying to get some of the homeless off the streets.

If the tax base is there to support it, then go right ahead. If the people and businesses all leave as a result, then there will no longer be a tax base there to support it. Who am I to tell a city what to do or not do about their homeless problem if I don't live there and am unaffected?

Columbus Day 2023 - Federal Holidays

Columbus Day is one of eleven federal holidays recognized nationwide by the United States Government. All non-essential federal government offices are closed on Columbus Day, and all federal employees are paid even if they receive the day off. Many private-sector employees will also receive paid time off or special holiday pay on Columbus Day.

-----------------------------------------------

The Party that didn't want the slaves freed, want us to believe blacks were not here before Columbus.

The way the slavery continues to this day, is for people to become financially dependent (currency debasement).

Instead of training a homeless person to write computer code, the person might get $1K per month, so the person stays dependent.

The minute that homeless person begins to become independent, then the Party that represents slavery loses a little control.

There are so many problems with what you said I have no idea where to start. I'm not categorically defending the Fed or saying there aren't alternatives to the Fed, but the causal chain that you are assuming would lead to events after that ONE change...um...let's just say you're assuming a lot and I'm also not sure specifically what you are assuming...but it is definitely a great many things that I'm unsure have a logical connection to the Fed to the extent you seem to think they do.

I am cutting to the chase.

Not having the central bank could remove income taxes.

The IRS is the collecting arm of the central bank.

Both are private.

We didn't used to have them.

No sure why anyone would want to vote for the Party they represent.

Pure capitalism is also a problem for education, unless you think poor people should only get the education they can afford. And yet, capitalism works fine for many things, except for the things it doesn't. You can't seem to see that.

The issue I see with capitalism, is not private education.

It is the way the top 1% have been separated with the bottom 99%.

I have absolutely no idea where you have been for the last couple years, but some states have already opted to rebrand Columbus Day as Indigenous Peoples' Day:

https://www.cnn.com/2021/10/11/us/indigenous-peoples-day-2021-states-trnd/index.html

It seems a pretty decent mix of left-leaning states as well as right-leaning states with significant Native American populations.

A Democrat introduced Indigenous Peoples' Day Act into the House and it was co-sponsored, exclusively, by Democrats:

https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/house-bill/5473/all-info?r=66&s=1

There is a companion bill in the Senate introduced by, you guessed it, a Democrat, which is co-sponsored entirely by---wait for it---Democrats:

https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/senate-bill/2919/cosponsors

I'm just astounded by how aggressively incorrect your post was. Was it deliberate? You can admit it if it was.

I'm not even a Democrat and you forced me to have to point this out.

Anyway, I don't actually disagree with you that Democrats have an unspoken goal of people being financially dependent on the Government. To that end, they actively dangle carrots, such as the, "Fight for $15," rather than...I don't know...actually doing something about it when they have the chance? For one thing, they could have just voted to Index minimum wage to inflation when Obama was in office and they had the majority in both Congressional bodies and there wasn't anything Republicans could have done about it. Same thing with Federally protecting abortion access, via Legislation, but then both parties would lose a talking point, wouldn't they?

I also have no idea what that has to do with Columbus Day.

Personally, I'd just 86 the thing and replace it with Halloween as a Federal holiday. I suppose Jehovah's Witnesses might not like that, but it's less controversial otherwise.

Okay, so you remove income taxes...which poor people with kids largely don't pay at the Federal level, or alternatively, are actually given money by the Federal Government as a result of certain things associated with the tax code. In this process, you also privatize education...so these same people go from directly paying almost nothing for their kids' education to directly paying some non-zero amount.

Can you explain how this helps poor parents again? I must be missing something.

We didn't used to have cars, or the Internet, but I like both of those things.

The point is Columbus Day is a Federal Holiday in celebration of Christopher Columbus discovering America.

That's indoctrination by the state.

That's the type of garbage they teach in state sponsored schools.

Because we know Columbus didn't discover America.

It was just a simple example of socialists indoctrinating students.

They still want us to believe it too, because it's still a Federal Holiday.

Fine, I guess, but it would seem only Democrats are concerned with changing that at the Federal level. The very party that you would accuse of indoctrinating folks, which I agree is true, to a limited extent.

THEY DON'T TEACH THAT COLUMBUS DISCOVERED AMERICA IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS ANYMORE!!!

Those that would probably only do so on the defense, "That's what we have always taught," which seems a much more Evangelical/Conservative sort of general outlook on things.

Do you just really like typing? I can't help but get the impression you don't always read the posts you respond to.

Everyone has to take turns carrying the water from the creek.

If a person doesn't go down to the creek with a bucket, then their belly growls.

Then they can go to those of us (privately) that have plenty of water since we have a good work ethic.

But not socially.
