Taking a page from the Trump playbook, supporters of Brazil's former leader have stormed the Capitol.

I think it was stopped for the most part. So, that means it can't be a coup. Just a minor kerfuffle.

You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?

It's gotten worse.

Looking more like a CIA instigated attempted coup. Destined to fail and cost lives.

Brazil has been seeing massive anti-Lula da Silva protests across the nation since the day after the October 2nd election. Reports of the protests have been deliberately blacked out in the western media. He is a socialist. He ran as a socialist, and the majority of voters always vote for the socialist platform.

They had a good economy under daSilva. He introduced gun control laws, expanded economic support for the impoverished, increased economic growth 400% and increased exports nearly 300%. For his success, he was charged with money laundering and corruption and and received a felony conviction, which prevented him from holding or running for office. The conviction was overturned a few years later.

Now he's back.

I’m sure they just have legitimate concerns about Hunter’s laptop.

I'm probably the only one who hoped this was going to be about tree nuts. Tree nuts are very interesting, I'm most impressed by cashews.

My god, cashews...one of my fondest childhood memories is of my grandma taking me to an "old school" candy and nut establishment.

The cashews were kept warm and were the best, most flavorful ones I've ever had, and I've searched unsuccessfully for their equivalent ever since.

Lots of cashew come from Brazil.

I can’t remember what we were squabbling about, but I’m glad we are back on the same page. Was at pharmacy to pick up scrips. Grabbed can of cashews! At home I’ve been putting cashews in my New England Clam Chowder. Try it!

The journey from the tree to your table has taken hundreds of years, and if they were raw when consumed, you might have gotten a nasty allergic reaction as the trees can be often times 500 years old and are related to Poison Sumach and can be 100s of feet tall similar to redwoods.

The sources I looked up claim the tree only gets to 40 or 50 feet. Maybe the difference between wild trees the domestic trees?

Appears my memory has failed me. Anything is possible. I think they're related to redwoods though and I could be wrong about that. It has been years since I looked this stuff up. Brazil nut trees do reach over 160 feet, I did google this. Brazil nuts used to be called by a derogatory name, N-word toes for their size and dark color.
