Instead of paying money everyone receives a number of lashes with a cane over the course of a year.

Fair tax. Everyone will receive 1% tax of their income in lashes

Fair across the board. If you make 500k a year you'll receive 1 lash per dollar of income up until 1% is reached. If you make $15k you receive 1 lash per dollar of income in same.

Because it's really about overall effect on the person not the percentage

(I'm not getting into all the tax avoidance issues and schemes here, just a basic idea.)

Had to edit above amounts

So punish a person that has a good work ethic?

It's really just to look at why a flat percentage doesn't reflect a fair effect on the person. If you make so much money that you don't notice if your tax is 1% or 25% but another person has to cut back when a tax increases 2% more that's not an equal effect. That's what people should notice.

The symptom of the issue is the wealth of the top 1/10th of the 1% relative to the other 99.9%.

I consider income inequality, related, but not specific enough to what I'm talking about.

Until the underlying issue is corrected, the major imbalance will always be present.

Just spinning wheels otherwise.

It's wrong to steal from folks.

So can't steal from the top 1/10th, just the same as stealing for basic income.

The same principle.

It's wrong.

But, we can understand how the top 1/10th were able to acquire that wealth and then close the loophole.

Is it fair to have someone paying a 20% tax rate and another paying 30%? Do you remember signing your name agreeing to what’s written in our US Constitution? I don’t remember signing a contract? Why are you following any of it?

Closing the 1/10th loophole will remove the Federal Income Tax for all citizens.

That's the way it used to be.

It's a modern invention of the top 1/10th.

Stealing from Peter to pay Paul is humorous.

Let's just leave the 1/10th alone.

Have the beggars fighting over the same piece of bread while we laugh.
