BASED ON MORE RECENT DEVELOPMENTS THIS THREAD DEALING WITH USING SOUND, UNHEARD BY HUMANS, TO COVERTLY LINK INFECTED COMPUTER SYSTEMS IS HEREBY RE-INSTATED.

Volume 8, No. 11, November 2013 On Covert Acoustical Mesh Networks in Air Michael Hanspach and Michael Goetz

Abstract—Covert channels can be used to circumvent system and network policies by establishing communications that have not been considered in the design of the computing system. The underlying network stack is based on a communication system that was originally designed for robust underwater communication. We adapt the communication system to implement covert and stealthy communications by utilizing the near ultrasonic frequency range. We further demonstrate how the scenario of covert acoustical communication over the air medium can be extended to multi-hop communications and even to wireless mesh networks.

SORRY. THIS WAS SOME SORT OF HOAX AND I FELL FOR IT HOOK LINE AND SINKER!!!! HOAX HOAX HOAX ADMINISTRATOR: PLEASE NUKE THIS THREAD SOMETIME.

Advanced computer security personnel have found that computers passed by standard security experts can still be infected and that many computers are now being infected when they are Air Gapped, that is, totally cut off from power cords, wifi connections or other internet or intranet connections of any sort.
These electronically isolated computers are being infected by mere proximity to other computers that use speaker systems to send high frequency signals inaudible to humans thus making your laptop vulnerable to infection whenever its near any speaker including a telephone.
See Ars Technica for computer infections by superbugs that are immune to all existing antibiotics.

Bad BIOS system hopping malware declared unstoppable.
Unstoppable Malware Needs No Internet Connection OR Modem OR WiFi capability.

After reading about the fancy Trojan cooked up which successfully spun to destruction some of Iran's centrifuges, it's hard not to consider a lot of stuff within the realm of possibility.

Do you remember when they first came out with touch tone phones? It supposedly was found people could whistle the tones to replicate tones and steal connections. (or something like that)
You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?

Here's a virus traveling on its way to destroy a computer. (not really, but amazing video that was on the news today)

The Stuxnet worm is a virus that was state sponsored and designed to test its environment by being destructive only if it become installed on a valuable target. It basically looked for sophisticated centrifuges and then caused mayhem.

Some people with perfect pitch could indeed emulate tones and did not have to carry a harmonica with them. One final tone would send an electronic off-hook signal so the telephone became a live microphone electronically but was physically resting in its cradle to any onlooker.

The power line looked like ball lightning a very interesting phenomenon that is rarely caught on film.
