March 15, 2014 Katherine Webb chose these movies
1. Capote (2005)
2. Dirty Dancing (1987)
3. Robin Hood: Men in Tights (1993)
4. The Ice Storm (1997)
5. Silence of the Lambs (1991)

I've seen the last four, and can recommend all of them depending on your mood. Capote, of course, was PSH's best actor movie.

Here are the feelings you can expect from the five movies
1. Feeling urban literary chic
2. Feeling romantic
3. Feeling like the high school clown
4. Feeling depressed about life, love, and family but with a touch of hope
5. Feeling scared of the dark

Just watched a documentary The Summit, about the 2008 ascent of K2 in which 11 climbers perished. Gripping stuff.

You mean you didn't see Capote, then? It's on Netflix.
It's an odd movie, but good enough, I guess.

Just saw Ice Storm, very depressing.

The new Star Trek just came to Netflix today. With so many
millions of subscribers, it will easily have a million people
viewing it at the same time. How the heck is that possible,
the movie will be a million different points in the movie at the same
time. How is that done.

Just saw Star Trek. Probably the best of the franchise.
Non stop action for 2 hours. I really got caught up in
it, the CG was amazing. Turns out it doesn't matter
who plays the main characters, as long as they do
a good job. I was in 11th grade when the series came
out in 1965, and was a huge fan. I had a real emotional
reaction when Leonard Nimoy made a short appearance.
Star Trek has been part of our lives for almost 50 years.
Hopefully it will be around for another 50..

Who would think that sex could be so god awful chilly. But there is a little sunshine at the end

I don't think there are really that many people waiting for a movie from last year to be released. Not compared to the number of people who are watching a trending youtube video.

Netflix says no one video can crash their server, no matter how popular it is.

I saw it in the theaters, and again just now on NetFlix. I forgot how good it was. It is non-stop action, but unlike other action flicks, it never seems forced, staged or unnecessary. Well done, JJ Abrams!

It's interesting that the characters we all know
so well, Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty, are all just
as believable when played by other actors. . Partly it's
the new actors aren't playing just the characters,
they have to play the originals playing the
characters. Quirks and all. The new Scotty is playing
James Doohan playing Scotty. It's works rather
well.

I have to say that Benedict Cumberbatch (Khan) was a better villain than Eric Bana (Nero). But overall, I like the 2009 film a little better. The fight scenes were a little too long in the sequel.
