If I was African American I would be offended by that advertisement for Evolution. Go to the online casino in Michigan which is in Detroit, see if you can find one dealer who looks anything like this woman. I think I've seen one non African American woman since I started playing. Like I said, it's Detroit. Yet as I recall if you go to the three brick-and-mortar casinos in Detroit there are hardly any African-American dealers. They are predominantly white. But I haven't been there in 10 years maybe it's changed. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

I know in some Double Zero Roulette tables have a rule where you only lose half of your bet if a zero hits (if betting outside, so if you are betting Red 50, and a zero hits they only take 25), which I have been told is actually better than a single zero roulette table with no such rule (which I think is the en prison rule you mention if I recall correctly, I may be getting the name mixed up). So I imagine there are scenarios where playing double zeros make sense (in the sense of a lower house edge for outside bets). Actually, I just googled it and it took me to the WOO page on roulette : "Atlantic City Rules In Atlantic City, any all even money bets (red, black, odd, even, 1-18, 19-36) follow a variation of the European half-back rule (see below). If the ball lands in 0 or 00, then the player will lose only half of any even money bet. This lowers the house edge to 2.63% on these bets. This rule does not apply on single zero wheels. " (I guess its for even money bets only not all outside bets, and it still does seem to make HE slightly lower than a single zero wheel with no additional rules, at least if those are the only bets you make). https://wizardofodds.com/games/roulette/basics/ I don't play a ton of roulette so I don't know how common this rule is outside of AC (in fact I think the only place I have played roulette has been AC). But, if there are other cities with this rule (or casinos that have it), it seems like a logical reason to prefer double zero roulette, especially if you stick with red or black. |
