So several weeks ago, I woke to the dulcet tones of an alarm going off. Not an alarm to indicate something is wrong, but an alarm to alert to a low battery. Since the frigging thing only chirps about once every 90 seconds, I spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out which of the 8 alarms in this house needed more juice. After finding the fixture that needed a new power plant, I made a quick trip to the dollar store for some 9V batteries. Big mistake! After reloading, the alarm starting chirping again. Turns out, the batteries had about as much energy straight from the package as an elderly, diabetic tree sloth. So here's today's lesson, amigos: (1) Check the power in your household alarms like you vote-early and often, and (2) Don't cheap out on batteries for safety equipment!

It takes a VOM (volt ohm multimeter) with a feature to measure their strength.

That electric meter isn't old school. This is what I use. Same as when I was a youth.

No, an electric meter isn't old school, but the discussion was about blue tooth battery testing devices, not electric meters.

I rather doubt that the device you picture is blue tooth capable.
