Nate Silver is saying the polls may have been so inaccurate because of what they call nonresponse bias. He says less than 10% of the people contacted choose to participate in a poll, so the pollster never get a true picture of what the country really thinks. It's why the polls were so wrong about Hillary winning, why they might be wrong about the true popularity of President Trump. It's probably much higher than the polls show.
