Like mother said, if everyone else jumped off a bridge should you? Poll results are not stored on a computer. They are saved on storage media. Because crashes are a problem. Which is why online voting is a crazy idea. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength |

Given all the unknowns, I think the President did a good job in many areas but I would never expect the left to give him credit for anything that is not negative. Looking back, we'll find things that could have been done better but the real question is what did we know about those things when they actually happened, not how they look now that we know more. Of course he could have done better in some areas...I don't know of a President who has been perfect in a crisis. The left thinks he knew about it way before he did because information was starting to be gathered by intelligence. They ignore how intelligence gets to the President after being considered, assessed, etc. It isn't like he gets every bit of information every day. There is a lot going on in the world every day, much none of us know about unless we have been in some part of the operation of gathering and disseminating it. When he did do stuff like shutting down flights from China, the left called him racist. Now they say it wasn't good enough. Actually, we probably should have quarantined everyone that returned. I wonder how that would have gone over at the time? The President has commended and cajoled governors from both sides. He has met with them and heard their needs. He has mobilized forces to make things happen, In that, some things went wrong. There are things we still don't know, Why was New York City, which was locked down, still having lots of spread among people supposedly following the rules. Is there an issue with the movement of air--heat, a/c--in those dense buildings New Yorkers live in? Should we look at what are considered essential businesses? Anyway, the left will continue to try and blame Trump for everything but people...real people, not the press...will look at what happened and make up their own minds about how well any given group of people did to help, or hurt, things. |

Out of all the things that baffle me about our government, the fact that you can vote WITHOUT showing ID is top of the list. I needed to show ID to pick up my chicken wing order. (Pre-paid via credit card) |

There is no sense in really trying to discuss anything with people who only want to talk about the negative, so it is best to give them the simplest example and move on. |

Or, they are simply unable to find any other positives. “A straight man will not go for kids.” - AZDuffman |

Agree here. As far as mandatory... I would not be against that. Since we are so happy to print more money, how about give each person $100 when they vote? This will actually help the Democrats, as their base is poorer and less employed so they would have a greater incentive to vote than all the billionaire white Republicans. AS far as ID, I like Gandler's ideas a few posts back. I'm 59. I can't buy a beer at Wegman's without one. |

That would be incorrect. There are others. Again, not worth the time or effort. Why point any positives to a group of people who only want to talk about the negatives? |

When I voted by absentee ballot in the military, the envelope had to be witnessed by Commissioned Officer I couldn't just send it in without someone observing my signature attesting to it being my ballot. I had secrecy; I could punch the card in private...but the envelope was certified. If we just mailed ballots willy nilly, the opportunity for fraud would increase. It is one thing to say that not a lot of fraud is committed; it is another to just open up other avenues for fraud. Someone will commit it, given the chance. |
