Seriously, though. Any politician in the spotlight every day will make their share of really REALLY stupid comments. Ditsy harris, did, Senile biden did and [ insert adjective] trump does. What you might want are some politicians that are intelligent and have integrity and will make so few faux pas that they can occasionally laugh along with us.

If the Dems put up a female candidate, a candidate from an ethnic minority, an LGBT candidate or an old candidate, they will get slaughtered, simply because enough of your electorate are biased against such candidates. Dems need an eloquent, white, male, middle aged professional. And or one, with a great team.

I and the rest of the world are not holding our breath. Probably too late, anyway as your next election is getting rigged in plain sight.

Alas, he carries a lot of liberal, California "garbage" with him which might be too odoriferous to placate Ma and Pa Kettle.

I look for Illinois governor JB Pritzker to make a serious play and to resonate better with more mainstream democrats.

Newsome superficially ticks the boxes, plus he knows how to play the trolling game. So he stands head and shoulders as favorite. But, of course there might be big stories just waiting to get out and bury him. Thanks for the mention of JB. It cheers me up that there might be a few good candidates.

Trump really will try to put his croney, vance or one of his family in office, if he can't wangle his own 3rd term.

Unlike the Bushes, there will be no Trump legacy of sons following their sire to the White House.

The public are well aware of the flaws of the Trump sons and are starting to believe their old man is past his pull date.

I get the feeling Trump thinks Vance is a bit of a stooge.

I could do without a troll. I prefer someone who knows what leadership means. It’s been absent from the White House for so long, I’m afraid people have forgotten what it looks like. I like Mark Kelly. Although Polymarket gives him a 2% chance at the nomination, about the same as Jon Stewart.

I agree that though Newsome is good at trolling trump, that's not enough of a qualification.
Kelly presents himself well as a professional.

Please, America, come up with a bunch of viable candidates on both sides. Then vet the hell out of them.

But, even the best Dem is going to have to fight dirty: drag himself down to trump's level, and then regain his dignity.

Maybe get absorbed by Canada and make Carney your president.... Or Merge with Greenland and adopt the Danish PM
