Yup. "Mushrooms are a low-calorie food that packs a nutritional punch. Loaded with many health-boosting vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, they’ve long been recognized as an important part of any diet. For instance, mushrooms raised with exposure to ultraviolet light are a good source of Vitamin D, an important component in bone and immune health." If you take a risk, you may lose. | Evenbob Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 148 Posts: 25978 | Have been looking forward to this since last night when I thought it up. Sweet and savory Mexican French toast made into a chicken breast sandwich. The French toast is made with egg whites, sweetener, cinnamon, nutmeg, red pepper flakes, and hot sauce. That's where you get to sweet and savory. The sandwich was every bit as good as I thought it would be. I might have invented this because I can't find a recipe anywhere for Mexican French toast made like this. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Add some kind of fish to that, like smoked herring, and you would really like it even more. I get smoked herring at Dollar Tree. I usually buy all they have in stock and put it in the pantry. It has so many uses and is good and good for you. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

A lot of bread in your posts lately. Weren't you severely limiting carbs not that long ago? A government of laws and not of men. - John Adam’s |

I only eat Aunt Millie's 1 carb bread it has 30 calories a slice. It has 12 grams of carbohydrate but 11 G of that is insoluble fiber so it only has one net gram of carb. So that three slices of bread in that sandwich is 90 calories and 3 carbs. If it was regular bread those three slices would be 270 calories and 51 G of carbohydrate. You can get 16 oz loaf of Aunt Millie's regular bread for $1.69. A loaf of the 1 carb bread is $5.79. That's only for 14 oz. But believe me it's worth every penny. And all that insoluble fiber makes you really regular. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

| DRich Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 57 Posts: 5896 | I saw that Kroger has just entered Florida. What is interesting is that they are not going to have any supermarkets. Their plan is to only have home delivery because they are too far behind Publix to open stores. It will be interesting to see if it is still going in 5 years. At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a deterrent. |

The only thing I know is that EvenBob has yet to post a picture of a sandwich that I wouldn't happily gobble down. Say what you will about his presentation of some other dishes, but the man knows how to make a good sandwich. "War is the remedy that our enemies have chosen..let us give them all they want." The one carb bread has made this 800 calorie diet actually pleasant. It allows me to eat sandwiches, French toast, to make croutons, and really expand the parameters of what I eat. The lowly sandwich has to be the most versatile food delivery method in history. Look at how many fast food chains are built around the sandwich. A hamburger is a sandwich. Subway serves nothing but sandwiches. For 90% of fast food chains the sandwich is the main thing they sell. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |
