Considering we were hearing millions dead in the USA my "guess" is as good as the "experts."

There is a difference between being "in the basement" because you have been diagnosed vs. because you are afraid to come out of it.

Millions of dead was based on doing nothing. We will never know whether that was accurate or not, likely not. But “forgotten about by April” had literately zero chance of being anywhere near correct. It was a guess with absolutely no epidemiological thought or knowledge put into it.

Of course there is a difference. But it is yet another example of an hilarious turn of events where something Trump ends up doing something that he mocked someone else for doing. Sometimes only recently prior. He will be in the basement putting out videos and messages and whatever else he is able to do despite what you may think. And with less than 5 weeks to go, why wouldn’t he?

Yes he will likely end up fine. I think everyone should be hoping for that, although no doubt we will have some people wishing out loud that he doesn’t which is quite frankly sad.

He literally just mocked Biden during the debate on Tuesday for Biden’s mask wearing. Karma is a beeyotch.

I should like to think everyone on this board hopes for a speedy recovery for Trump and Melania, regardless of where all of us might stand politically. I know I certainly do.

I don't pretend to have any great psychological insight into Trump, or anyone else, for that matter---but my read on him is that he might be the sort of person who is prone to take something more seriously when it impacts him personally.

As far as his rallies go, to whatever extent that he might still have a few rallies, that's going to be up to the organizers and/or attendees how seriously they want to take it.

I agree that mocking Biden for wearing the mask is certainly not a good look for him, at this point, not that it was a good look when he did it. I've always found, "Mask shaming," to be a stupid concept...let people do what they want if they think it makes a difference and it doesn't hurt anyone else.

The family disgusts me

A DR working for the venue walked over to the family and reminded them of the mask rule

The Province of BC where I live has a very low rate of Covid. Our provincial health officer has done a very good job of managing the pandemic. We have an NDP government which is our most left wing government. The province has never had a mandatory mask policy. Most people don't wear masks on a regular basis. I have spent many hours developing a Covid policy for a club I manage in line with Provincial and Federal law and guidelines. It requires masks when in congested areas of our club where physical distancing is not possible. It does not require masks in our club where physical distancing is possible. The majority of the people in our club are seniors. Your thoughts on masks are as extremely pro as some anti maskers are the other way.

"Forgotten About" was based on all the previous scares we had, and for those everyone indeed forgot about them quickly.

You act like a mask is some 100% solution. We have seen that it is not. And again, someone who is 30 feet from the nearest person but wears a mask deserves to be mocked. Someone who wears a mask in ads shot on a camera with nobody near them deserves to be mocked. Someone who thinks the pandemic is happening because we "did not wear masks soon enough" deserves to be mocked.

Biden's basement strategy just shows a weak and afraid man.
