Of course. But he’s willing to sacrifice hundreds of thousands of his own people to achieve his goal. Which my point is he’s been failing at. I’d bet he thought Ukraine would surrender quite quickly. And these despots are not quick to admit they made a mistake.

I don’t know enough about Russian politics to answer this…. If Putin were to die tomorrow does the next leader just continue the war as is? Or is it really ‘Putin’s war’.?

Russia is not too well prepared for succession. Power might be grabbed by someone even more hawkish and psychopathic.

Europe has always looked askance at Russia, deeming them clods, boors and uncultured.

Now they judge Trump the same.

If Putin croaks tomorrow, or throws himself out of window-with or without help, or commits suicide by stabbing himslef in the back a few times, most likely would be Medvedev or the current PM, Mikhail Mishustin.

I honestly believe that is one of the reasons the U.S. has not pushed to oust Putin. As much as we dislike him doesn't change the fact that in 25 years of ruling he hasn't done anything to provoke a war with us.

News announced a Russian general killed by car bomb in Moscow.

Just as likely he was secretly recorded speaking against Putin's war and Russian agent killed him, but they're accusing Ukraine.

As I've said before, I'd assume I was being recorded as a high Russian official all the time.
