You live in Florida, so that is extremely unlucky to begin with.

Showing one potential serious side effect.

This is not enough to prevent LLY's stock from hitting $800 (August 2024?).

Because Wall Street and the FDA love money more than the alternative.

I won't be taking a bearish position in LLY now.

And she's too richly valued for my blood to go bull.

I'll wait to around $800, which is close the top of an apparent trading channel.

Risk of thyroid cancer

In animal studies, GLP-1 receptor agonists, such as Mounjaro, led to the formation of thyroid tumors in mice and rats. Based on these findings in rodents, it was hypothesized that these medications had the potential to cause thyroid cancer in humans as well. This finding led to all GLP-1 receptor agonists having a mandated “boxed warning,” also called a black box warning, from the FDA.

It is unknown whether Mounjaro causes thyroid C-cell tumors, including medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC). Mounjaro is contraindicated in patients with a personal or family history of MTC or in patients with multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).

Obviously I disagree. I have lived in Florida for almost two years now and I have only been cold twice. For me, that trumps everything else. I have lived in Ohio, iowa, Nevada and now Florida. I would have never moved to nevada if I had realized how cold it gets in the winter.

Unlike most Ohioans, I like that state up north. I could picture myself living there from May to September. I tried to get my daughter to go to U of M because I like the Ann Arbor area.

To put these weight loss drugs in perspective:

PFE is worth about $200 billion.

At $800 per share, LLY would be worth about four times as much, or about $800 billion.

If you had bought a cheaper place you could probably afford one up North as well.

They've tried basic gun safety training on kids of that age. You wouldn't want most of them to actually test it with a real gun, as you'd likely get shot.
