Can't we just take them out of commission with the Jewish Space Lasers?

Lindsay Graham sudden death. Quite a polarizing figure. Will be remembered for initially being mega anti-Trump to eventually being one of his biggest supporters. Who had Graham dying before McConnell on their bingo card?

I am fairly certain McConnell beat him and is already dead (at least legally brain dead.)

GOP is just covering and dragging it out to waiting it out until it is too late to force a special election. Also, the current KY Governor is a Dem, so they would also be pissy if she got to appoint his replacement.

So, he is dead, they are stalling our his term.

They changed KY law a few years ago specifically to avoid this. The governor must select from a list of candidates provided by the party.

If Mitch is actually dead, there would be a firestorm of scandal for the Soviet-style disinformation.

I hope McConnell being out and Graham now gone; this derails Todd Blanche even having a prayer of getting confirmed.

And just as I said that I see McConnell wide awake in a hospital bed.

So the Governor selects, but only from a list of party nominations? How many nominations? Or can it be as many or as few as the party wishes?

I stand corrected. LAw changed so that a senate vacancy in KY triggers a special election. No more temp appointment by the governor.

https://www.lex18.com/news/state-of-the-commonwealth/kentucky-law-requires-special-election-to-fill-vacant-u-s-senate-seat-not-appointment

The law may be unconstitutional, under either the KY or US Constitutions.

I like the way MA does it. The gov gets to appoint a Senator, but also must call a special election. That way we get 2 senators to represent us while we elect a permanent Senator. Law invoked when Ted Kennedy died in office and when John Kerry was appointed Sec of State.

Looks like Musk is preparing groundwork for powering his data centers. Wonder how many other places he's buying up?

Quote:
Elon Musk has acquired Jacksonville-based APR Energy, according to a Federal Trade Commission filing that surfaced the deal weeks after it closed with no public statement from either side.

The FTC's early termination notice, transaction number 20261350 and dated May 14, lists Elon Musk as the acquiring party and CF APR Super Holdings LLC as the acquired party, with New APR Energy, LLC listed as the acquired entity.

It also shows the transaction was granted early termination, meaning no further antitrust review was required before the deal could close.
